The  West of Yore Point to Point for 2017 will take place on Sunday,  February 26th at Askham Bryan Agricultural College.

The venue, next to the A64 on the outskirts of York, proved highly popular for our inaugural fixture there in 2016 and the same team will be involved in preparations for 2017.

One new feature will be a shorter maiden for younger horses. We are only the third fixture in the Yorkshire season which goes well into May, so this should prove popular.

We are also promising improvements to the horsebox park which will mean owners and trainers will have improved and quicker access to the course.

First race is at 12.30pm and entry will be £10 per adult

Look forward to seeing you at Askham Bryan

After several fruitful years at Whitcliffe Grange on the outskirts of Ripon, our Point to Point was forced to move when the course underwent a change of agricultural use. A specially developed track at Askham Bryan Agricultural College near York, though outside our country, has been a more than adequate replacement.

We held our fixture there on February 28th this year and out of 90 entries for the six race card attracted more than 60 declarations. Add to that a gloriously sunny late winters day, ideal jumping ground and a crowd of around 1300 and what will hopefully prove a happy association with the College could not have got off to a better stat.

We are already looking forward to 2017. Changes to the horse box park, in particular to make access to and from the course easier for owners and trainers is already being discussed and we will probably tinker with conditions for the mixed open race.

A date for the fixture in 2018 will be announced sometime in July.
